South Quay Plaza
A key benefit of living walls is their ability to transform spaces traditional landscaping can’t reach, appealing to developers and architects alike.

Designed by Foster + Partners and developed by Berkeley Group, South Quay Plaza now boasts one of the tallest residential buildings in Europe, with over 1,200 new homes and 2.6 acres of landscaped gardens. We were approached to help maximise the space for nature on the rooftop, and worked with NAO Landscapes to do so.
One of the main benefits of living walls which attracts developers, architects and landscape architects, is how they capitalise on spaces that traditional landscaping can’t reach. With the Viritopia Living Wall System, we afford further advantages as based on natural soil, we can get creative with the plant design as we have greater scope in our plant selection.
This meant for this project, we were able to go with the exact aesthetic that was required to suit the sophisticated modern design of the roof area and blend with the traditional planting.
