Reasons to install an interior living wall

Indoor green walls not only boost BREEAM and WELL scores, but also deliver broader benefits to both the building and those who occupy it.

Well-being

Proximity to plants makes us healthier and happier. Studies have shown that living and working near plants reduces stress and boosts productivity.

Air purification

Air-purifying indoor plants improve air quality by absorbing carbon dioxide and producing oxygen. Cleaner air supports better health, focus, and mood.

Aesthetic value

Interior living walls soften harsh surfaces and elevate the feel of a space. They enhance brand image, and are shown to increase average customer spend.

Sound insulation

Large indoor spaces with hard surfaces can be noisy. Greenery helps absorb sound, reduce echo, and improve the acoustics of a room.

    Frequently asked questions

Find answers to common questions below, or contact us to speak with our sales team. We’d be glad to assist.

Which plants work best in an indoor living wall?

This varies depending on the room’s levels of light and humidity. We’ll help you design the best plant palette for your indoor space. Some of our favorite species for indoor living walls include pothos, ferns, peace lily, phlebodium, monstera, and crotons.

Who waters and maintains the plants?

Our systems come with irrigation, so no one will need to water the plants. After installation, our maintenance team or global partners make regular visits to check the irrigation system, prune the foliage, and swap out any plants as needed. These services are all included within our estimate.

What are the types of indoor living walls?

Interior living wall options include soil-based modules, felt pocket systems, hydroponic systems, and mounted pots. Felt and mounted pots are often low-cost, but the limited root space means plants need frequent replacement. Hydroponic systems support dense foliage but rely on precise nutrient dosing and careful monitoring to keep plants alive. Soil-based modules grow plants naturally — minimising chemicals, using water more efficiently, and supporting root growth for greater longevity. Our living wall systems grow plants in soil-based substrate.

Should I install a living or artificial indoor green wall?

Artificial walls don’t require watering or maintenance, and they often cost less. But they can’t replicate the air quality enhancement and full sensory experience (the look, scent, texture, and sound dampening quality) delivered by real foliage. If you aren’t sure whether a real plant wall will work in your space, ask us. They work in more spaces than you might expect —even cruise ships!

Does the wall need to attach to the building, or can it stand on its own?

You don’t have to fix the green façade to a preexisting wall. We offer free-standing living walls that are fully self-supporting. These are ideal for spaces where wall-mounting isn’t possible or where you want more flexibility. View an example of a free-standing interior living wall that was fixed to a wooden framework that we supplied.

What does an indoor living wall cost?

Indoor living wall costs vary based on size, plant palette, lighting and irrigation requirements, and structural access, so pricing is always tailored to the project. Every quote includes ongoing maintenance (irrigation checks, pruning, plant treatments, and plant replacement) so there are no hidden costs. Contact us for a feasibility assessment to receive an estimate.
