Mace Group are delivering an £80m project for The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) to build a new Centre Buildings Redevelopment (CBR). This will be LSE's largest ever redevelopment providing a world class learning environment. The site accommodation consist of 21 Portakabin modules which house toilets and showers, a canteen, PPE store room and first aid office and meeting rooms. The side of the buildings that faces the public space is clad in a combination of living walls designed and installed by Viritopia and mesh to mirror the actual plants but allow some light and ventilation into the building.

Key benefits include that the wall improves air quality, considerably improves appearance for the project and the construction industry as a whole and rainwater harvesting has been incorporated to minimise water usage. BREEAM compliant plant sourcing will enable the plants to be incorporated in the final building design. Mesh screen over windows specifically designed to mirror actual plants.
